These butter crocks are used for keeping butter fresh at room temperature. It maintains spreadability while protecting your butter from contamination.

To use, pack one stick butter into the top section. You can fill the bottom section 1/3 full with salted water, the traditional way of using butter bells. I prefer not to use any water, however, and have found my butter stays fresh longer without the water. (If you do use the water method, changing water routinely will help ensure freshness.) Once your butter is packed, place top section into bottom section, and store on your kitchen counter.

The top section is designed to stand-up when placed upside down on the counter for ease of use when cooking.
